I visited this shop because it had looked intriguing and they were seemingly running a soft launch. Having been in a handful of shops I've found that there are a few archetypes for these and I can happily say Meowy Jane fits none of them. It doesn't give the uptight sanitized apple store vibes, the sketchy backroom converted office vibes, or anything similar. The shop is visually fun and interesting, which is obvious to anyone browsing the photos beforehand.

As far as the fun part, the product, it's not just about consumables! Where most shops might have a smattering of related apparel or accessories, Meowy Jane is as much a fun local gift shop as it is a dispensary. I would not feel awkward in the least just stopping by to browse for a gift - jewelry, decoration, clothes, and of course related dispensary accessories. The brand itself isn't new, I've seen their dispensary product in other shops and advertised otherwise, and most of it is their own, or partnered in some way with other companies I've seen locally before.

One big selling point that might cause you to choose this spot is that it's largely unintimidating. My wife has had issues in the past where she's felt a bit uncomfortable going into shops for the first time because it can be intimidating. This is a market that's been stigmatized forever, so there's layers of anxiety that can play out and it's important to not scare off new clients. Given this shop's setup I'd highly recommend it to anyone who might feel out of place otherwise in some of the other dispensaries. Relatedly the staff was all female and very pleasant.

Overall great shop that I could see myself stopping in at even when not in need for product but just looking for something nice as a gift or because I'm bored and want a new coffee mug. Just don't sleep on the product of course; it's high quality and I can very much attest to that after indulging when I got home.

The store was easily accessible, we were warmly greeted when we came in by the budtender and the most wonderful Golden, he was such a sweet boy. The store is really nice, the menu was small enough as to not be overwhelming but large enough for options. We enjoyed what we bought and would definitely stop in again when visiting Portland.

In short, Meowie Jane combines top-notch products with unbeatable service in a chill, welcoming environment. It's a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy the finer things in life, with a healthy dose of cat-themed puns. Five stars all the way!

It’s a cat themed dispensary I don’t know how much better it could get.

Staff was great, gave me some free goodies with my purchase.

You need to go to this boutique right meow. The staff were welcoming, knowledgeable and patient when I started asking an abundance of questions. Had no intention of going to a dispensary the other day but when I saw their "get in here right meow" neon I just had to check it out. So glad I did. Come up here every year from NC for Christmas and this will definitely be on the to do list from here on in.

Honestly if you have been to Portland and most of Maine in general you know there is a large abundance of weed shops. So because of this to stand out and you need to do something different. Which this place nails with the addition of a cat theme for the shop. If you love weed and cats (I assume there are many of you) then I highly recommend you drop what you are doing and head there right meow! It is the puuur-fect addition to the overflowing weed options in Portland. The staff are friendly and willing to answer any questions. You’ll also find lots of cat themed things around the place which makes it stand out. So check this place out if you want a unique weed shop!

Cute shop with warm, friendly, and knowledgeable staff eager to guide you in the right direction. There’s something for everyone here, with great deals to boot. They have a ring light set up for a cute photo opp moment, a couch if you have company waiting on you make decisions, and tons of adorable (and practical!) merch for you and your favorite cat lovers. There’s a reason why I went back three times in four days!

Very cool shop. Went twice in 2 days. Owner works her store which is purrrfect. Extra special service makes it the best spot to shop. Take a paws in your day to claw into some treats at Meowy Jane. Completely different vibe from dispensaries in Missouri. Even got a swag bag with purchase. Why would anyone go anywhere else in Portland?

What a fun and unique boutique dispensary! I was in town on vacation and I made sure to be able to visit Meowy Jane! It’s a little unassuming store front but nicely decorated inside! The ladies were so nice, non cannabis product were very cool and I loved all the branded merch. They also gave me a first time buyer goodie bag 🤗 loved my visit!

Love the aesthetic! The speak easy type door is literally the coolest thing I have ever seen at a dispensary. The owner is so friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend checking this place out! It is one of a kind and not like every other dispensary you see. 10/10 and if you are in the Portland maine area it should definitely be a spot on your list!

What a purrfect dispensary. Everybody is so nice and the products and pricing are terrific. One of my first stops in the old port after a lobster roll of course.

Cool shop, nice atmosphere, helpful friendly staff, good product, fair prices.

It was the closest dispensary to the Hilton we were staying at, within easy walking distance.

I enjoyed the cat theme, the goody bag I got with each purchase, and the gumball machine that didn't have gum, but gave random discounts of up to 50% on the most expensive single item purchased.

Wow what an incredible shop. I'm from Canada, Quebec and I wish we have that kind of store to destingmatized marijuana consumption. Really love the vibe and the ladies there were incredibly friendly and explain differences between types of cannabis. Way to go Portland! Must seen :)

Literally the best place to get cannabis in the old port. LBGT+ friendly. Kind and knowledgeable staff. And if you like cats? Boy howdy do they have some cool cat stuff!

This is my favorite dispensary. I always make sure to stop in when I am in town. They have such a great selection of items both cannabis related and otherwise. I went in on my birthday to treat myself and everyone was fun and friendly.
